The latest entry in the Zelda saga, Breath Of The Wild has only been released a few days ago. Yet the game is now playable on a PC through Cemu’s Wii U emulator.
For those of you that don’t know about the emulator. Cemu is an emulator for Wii U which runs on windows and was first released back in 2015, it is still under development but it can run a number of Wii U games pretty smoothly. It is till date the only eight generation console emulator.
It’s surprising that they got Breath of the Wild to run so soon, however the emulated version has no audio apart from beeps , whistles and the occasional bell chimes. There are also low frames per second , which is again expected as the game has been released for only 3 or so days and this is a detailed open world environment .You can watch the video below to find out more about it
However a word of advice a Zelda game is probably best played on a Nintendo console as playing it on an emulator is only going to hamper your playing experience , and of course you are going to run into compatibility issues.
It is honestly a lot more than anybody would have expected at this point in time , and it is actually surprising that they were able to be able to do this in the first place. It is by all accounts a phenomenal achievement by the Cemu team.
