GTA V Constantly Persistent On Unit Sales – Crosses 80 Mil

In just 3 months, GTA V has increased sales by 5 million units! That regardless to say is a phenomenal achievement for a game that came out nearly a half decade ago.

If there is any game that still lives on and that too successfully then it’s none other than Grand Theft Auto V. The game was released back in 2013 and since then it has crossed shipment of 80 million units, globally. This data has increased by 5 million units since February 2017 when it was 75 million units. The continuous strong sales are not at all surprising, considering the fact that GTA V is still going on to be one of the games in the top-selling charts of US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

After the latest earnings report of Take-Two, a conference call was held in which the CEO Strauss Zelnick said that GTA V and GTA Online “outperformed take-Two’s expectations during the fourth quarter as they have in every period since they released”. Another big winner for the franchise is GTA Online and as the game sees constant annual growth in repeated spending. The CEO even mentioned that Rockstar plans to release more updates in the future.

During the conference call, Zelnick commended GTA V for being the “standard bearer for creative excellence” in the super profitable video game industry.
