The Zelda-clone game was released by FDG Entertainment last month  on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Fast forward a few weeks and the action-adventure title has sold over a million units between the two consoles prompting the developer to announce new platforms for the game.

According to FDG, Oceanhorn should arrive soon on Android and “a Nintendo console.” Which indicates either the Wii U or the upcoming Nintendo NX.

Although we still don’t much know much about the NX, a Nintendo insider recently claimed that Nintendo is working to port many Wii U games to NX. We don’t know whether other Wii U games will be immediately available on the NX, but with Nintendo’s history of offering backward compatibility with its consoles, it wouldn’t be surprising see Nintendo allow NX users to continue playing their Wii U games on the new console. There is also the news that Nintendo wants Wii U and NX gamers to interact with each other which may indicate some crossover.

Keeping all this in mind FDG may look to continue to build  momentum and release Oceanhorn on Wii U sometime in the next couple months. With the holiday season perhaps the ideal time.

You can play Oceanhorn  currently on iOS, PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, While developer Cornfox & Bros is also bringing Oceanhorn to the PlayStation Vita.
