The Kaam Ya’tak shrine can be found in central Hyrule, just about north from where Link wakes up at the start of the game. It’s located near Central Tower, which stands in front of the castle. Although you can get to Kaam Ya’tak shrine pretty early on in your game, it’s advised to visit Kakariko Village at the very least since you will face a few smaller Guardians during your time in the shrine.
Once you enter the shrine, walk down the stairs and you’ll see a large stone ball hanging from a chain in front of a large stone door. There are several ways to knock the ball through the doorway, the simplest is to switch to the Magnesis tool and grab the smaller ball the large stone ball is hanging from. You have to aim between the metal chassis it’s perched on, but you just need to move around a bit and shouldn’t face too many problems. Once you’re locked on, swing the ball to the right then back toward the door to knock it open.
Proceed through the open door, you’ll see two sets of spiked balls rolling through the next corridor. The first row is just a single spiked ball, so wait for it to pass before quickly running to the second row of spiked balls There are several balls rolling through here, so change to the Stasis tool and freeze any balls that roll past.
Swiftly dash past the frozen spiked ball, but beware of two small Guardians that are situated around the corner to the left. After defeating them open the chest to get the Edge of Duality sword (50 attack). If you’re struggling with the Guardians it’s easier to deal with them by using a shield and a one-handed weapon.
Light a torch on the lamp in the opposite corner then set fire to the leaves on the ground and wall to release the stone ball on top. Make sure you’re not in its path though since the ball will be flung towards you. You can also light up the leaves or destroy the platform through a bomb or any other flammable object.
The stone ball brings down the door letting you pass through. The next hallway contains another chest in the far left corner, it has a Knight’s Broadsword (attack 26). Next go up the stairs and proceed down the next hallway and around the corner. There are another couple of small Guardians here. Deal with them before continuing down the hallway.
Walk by a closed door which you’ll be unable to open for now. Make your way down the stairs before locating a stone slab on the ground. Don’t step on it or else Link will be plunged into the abyss below. Freezing it with the Stasis tool will allow you to pass by the stone slab.
In the section you’ll find a large hammer, a metal ball and a railing that leads to another large stone ball. Move up the stairs to the right and access the Sheikah terminal. By using motion controls to control the hammer, swing it towards the metal ball knocking it into the stone ball which will roll towards the doors below.
You need to get enough force into the swing by pulling the hammer back to the left as far as possible, before swiftly swinging it to the right. This may take you several attempts as the stone ball has to clear several objects before it gets close enough to the door.
Before you go through the door, walk past it to locate a chest in the corner which contains an Ancient Core crafting item. Next carry on through the opened doors and to the next hallway. Move around the corner and ultimately up the stairs to locate the next puzzle.
There’s an abyss partially sheltered by a stone slab, with leaves to the left leading up to another wooden platform where a stone ball sits. Across the abyss you can find a switch on the ground while there is another door to the far right which you’ll need to open.
Stand where Link is shown in the screen below and select the circular Remote Bomb. Basically you have to throw the bomb over to the far side so that it lands on the darker gray area on the ground. You could also shoot a fire arrow into the leaves if you’re having trouble with the bomb.
Once you get the bomb into position do not immediately detonate it, Instead dash to the switch on the far side and stand on it. This will raise the gray segment of the ground where the bomb is resting. Once that section of the floor lifts, the bomb will roll back towards the stone ball and you can detonate it to destroy the platform and release the ball.
The ball will keep rolling into the abyss so you’ll need to switch to the Stasis tool and wait with the tool locked on to the stone slab covering the abyss. When the stone ball drops below the slab, quickly freeze the slab in place and prepare to step on the switch again. You need to time the switch so it’s pressed as soon as the ball hits the gray portion that will be lifted. You’ll basically be making a ramp and pushing the ball into the air at the same time.
Pass through the newly opened door, and hit the switch on the floor in the middle of the next room. This is the same section you previously passed when you couldn’t open the doors. Hit the switch to lower the bars in front of the battering ram. Although before you use the ram, find a breakable wall in the corner. Switch to the Remote Bomb and destroy the wall to find a chest that holds a Silver Rupee (100 rupees).
Now revert to the Stasis tool and return to the battering ram. Pull out a weapon that you don’t need (you’re about to seriously lower its durability), and freeze the ram. While it’s frozen, stand on the switch and keep attacking it. The switch doesn’t do anything here, just continue to attack it from that side so it moves correctly when it’s unfrozen.
The ram will roll down and open the doorway on the far side. Move through the newly opened doors and climb the stairs. There’s a chest above you, to reach it stand on the square shape on the floor in front of the orange crystal and hit the crystal once which will the cause Link to be launched up.
While you’re in the air use your glider, but land below the monk’s platform and circle around behind the chest. The chest contains a Diamond gemstone. Next return to the orange crystal (which is now blue) and attack it again to lower the catapult. Repeat the previous steps and this time use the glider to get to the monk and complete the shrine.
