The era of the Justice League is just about to begin. In November we are awaiting the release of something that can set the tone for Warner Bros and their DC universe. The last decade we have seen Marvel sit comfortably atop the charts , but in recent years there has been a changing of the tides. Although during this period we saw numerous DC films including Green Lantern but they weren’t able to grasp as much attention as Marvel’s films. Things might just start to change this year. If Justice League gets to a good start, DC might just overshadow Marvel in the cinematic universe as well.
In Justice League the fans will get to see the origin of the league. We will see Aquaman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and the Flash work together. There are also rumors of Superman’s return and the introduction to Green Lantern. Superman’s and the Green Lantern’s roles are uncertain but we can surely expect all of them to work together in future films.
One major announcement that came recently was of Shazam. According to Warner Bros, Zachary Levi is expected to play the role of Shazam. Director David F. Sandberg has announced to start working on the film in 2018. The film is scheduled for a 2019 release.
Before Shazam there are also rumor that a sequel to the Man of Steel will be made featuring Black Adam who is a direct adversary to the Shazam. The fans before laying eyes on the Shazam will also get to know Black Adam better and would get familiarity to the magic realm.
The release of Shazam will complete the DC cinematic universe. Shazam would set the seal for Justice League and set the tone for Justice League movies featuring all eight characters. Comparing it with the Avengers we feel that DC’s super heroes are at a class of their own. Inspired by the Greek Gods, the DC universe truly has the potential to go ahead of Marvel if things are done correctly.
