Excited for the Destiny 2 beta, but don’t have an Xbox Live membership? Well, you’re in luck! This weekend, Xbox Live Gold access will be free to access for all players – just in time for the Destiny 2 open beta, which launched this weekend too. As part of a multiplayer All-Access event, all Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will have free access to Xbox Live Gold.
The event runs from July 21 through July 23. The event was first announced by Microsoft on the official Xbox website. The announcement reads
“Hey! You! Multiplayer is open to everyone on Xbox One and Xbox 360 from July 21-23. You’ll be able to play with friends and millions of potential friends, in any game you already own” “Think it couldn’t get any better? Be part of the Destiny 2 Open Beta on Xbox One for free on the same weekend! What are you waiting for? Start playing Destiny 2 online now!”
This is a great time for players that haven’t subscribed to the service yet to try out Xbox Live Gold. The service normally costs £39.99 for an annual membership and £14.99 for a three month membership. Meanwhile, the Destiny 2 beta is in full swing and will end on Sunday, July 22 at 9PM PST for all platforms. Players are already complaining about some issues in the game, including scarce power ammo in PvE, Guardian damage in PvE (with some players comparing their guns to Nerf darts) and long cooldowns for grenades, supers and melees.
Thankfully, the developers have taken steps to address these issues. Are you playing the Destiny 2 beta? Is the game better than it’s predecessor? Let us know your thoughts and opinions by commenting in the comments section below!
