Wonder Woman is Queer?

For a pretty long time, the sexual preference of one of the greatest comic book heroes has never been questioned by several fans and this hero is none other than Wonder Woman. Although, knowing the crucial knowledge of the Themyscirian Princess, the fans did not question the anti-male culture which she originates from.

With the DC Rebirth, a few new things seem to have come up which may have brought some changes regarding the characters. There are updates about one of these changes and it is that Princess Diana of Themyscira and the Amazonian culture are gay… This news was updated by the people at Comiscosity and they sat down with Greg Rucka to question about the sexuality of Wonder Woman. Rucka said,

“Then, yes. I think it’s more complicated, though. This is inherently the problem with Diana: we’ve had a long history of people — for a variety of reasons, including sometimes pure titillation, which I think is the worst reason — say, ‘Ooo. Look. It’s the Amazons. They’re gay!’ And when you start to think about giving the concept of Themyscira its due, the answer is, ‘How can they not all be in same-sex relationships?’ Right? It makes no logical sense otherwise. It’s supposed to be paradise. You’re supposed to be able to live happily. You’re supposed to be able — in a context where one can live happily, and part of what an individual needs for that happiness are to have a partner — to have a fulfilling, romantic and sexual relationship. And the only options are women. But an Amazon doesn’t look at another Amazon and say, “You’re gay.” They don’t. The concept doesn’t exist.”

“By our standards where I am standing of 2016, Themyscira is a queer culture. I’m not hedging that. And anyone who wants to prevaricate on that is being silly.”

This update is not so surprising though…
