The Wolfhall takes a look at the prospects of the Gambit Movie

Fox recently has brought about a major shift in its strategy when it comes to superhero movies and it seems to be working well for the studio. Most people believe that studios such as Disney have gotten too soft when it comes to superhero movies. There is a lot of unnecessary humor in it and movies seem like Disney fairy tales with happy endings. Fox however is turning things around and is adopting a more R rated themes when it comes to its movies.

Logan for instance followed an R rated theme and was loved by fans. Deadpool was another movie that fell under this category and was well received by its audience. Two other movies that are in Fox’s pipeline are Venom and Gambit. While Venom is being played by Tom Hardy and is well on its timeline the studio is facing some difficulties with Gambit.

Rupert Wyatt, director of Rise of the Planet of the Apes was initially attached with the Gambit movie. Wyatt however later retracted from his position completely dropping off from the project. While many fans have little hope from the movie Channing Tatum the actor scheduled to play Gambit has given fans something to cheer about. As reported by Heroic Hollywood he had this to say to the fans.

I think we got super, super lucky. I think a lot of setbacks, we’ll look at them in hindsight as giant blessings. Because we were making it, [and] we’re writing a movie right at the turn of a paradigm shift in movies. So we got lucky that we didn’t just come out with ours, which I don’t think was fully formed. It was a good idea. We were going in the right direction. And then we got to learn from two really beautifully different kinds of a complete paradigm shifts… like Logan and Deadpool, I mean, they knocked down a lot of doors for us to be able to do things that we wanted to do in the first place.

Fox recently has done well and given fans something different through Logan and Deadpool. Let’s hope Gambit finds a director comes to the cinemas soon.
