The Wolfhall takes a look at why Chris Evans wants to wrap things after Avengers: Infinity War
Over the past few years we have seen entertainment companies’ sign up different actors being signed for the same super heroes. Over four different actors have played the iconic role. Spider Man and the Hulk have also gotten fair bit of different actors. However there are only some actors that are able to carry the mantle over the long-term. Hugh Jackman is one such actor that comes to mind. Fans absolutely love Jackman play the role of Wolverine and were absolutely gutted to see him finally leave the helm.
Another actor that may be coming an end to his role is Chris Evans. Evans had initially signed a contract for two Avengers films and three Captain America films. It seemed that the superhero role was becoming too hectic for the star and he was finally considering an end to his super hero career. But after immense pressure from the fans and Marvel studios he decided to stay for Avengers: Infinity Wars.
In an interview to the Telegraph, Evans regarding the issue said that “I had six films in my Marvel contract, so I could have said after the third Avengers I was done, but they wanted to make the third and fourth Avengers films as a two-parter. They said they had so many other characters to fit in – Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ant Man – and couldn’t get them all into one movie.” He further added that it made sense to stay till the infinity wars as it may wrap things up.
Chris Evan’s statement indicates that the Avengers: Infinity War may not just be the last film for Evans but it also might mean that the story line of Captain America may finally be coming to an end. Or it could even mean that Captain America like in the comics might turn his allegiance to Hydra and Chris Evans might not want to play the bad guy over here.
