It will be fair to say that Nintendo Switch has turned more than a few heads with the announcement of its hybrid console the Switch, and this time around it has also gained the praise of many a developer, and Ubisoft arguably tops the list of developers who can’t stop praising The Switch.
Just a few weeks ago Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had this to say regarding Switch
”The March quarter will also see the release of the Nintendo Switch. As we already said, we think the platform is great. For the first time ever, players will continue their home console experience on the go while traveling or commuting. That is a true innovation.”
This week Alain Corre who is the Executive Director of EMEA territories and a couple of other Ubisoft executives had a two page interview in the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, here is what they had to say
“We have big expectations for the innovative Nintendo Switch. Our Just Dance franchise, for example, is one that people enjoy with families. With the Nintendo Switch in hand, children, their parents, or even their grandparents, would be able to dance out in the backyard on holidays. Doesn’t that sound exciting (laughs)? The hardware really helps expand the possibilities of fun, people of all ages will be able to play games anywhere. We hope to have a wide variety of software available, but we’re unable to go into details just yet. Sorry (laughs).”
This statement however again signifies that at least Ubisoft will be focusing mainly on developing family friendly games for Nintendo’s new consoles, and we might not get to say the AAA titles that many of us hoped would be releasing for the Switch.
