Ubisoft Confirms Far Cry 5 In Midst Of 3 Other Confirmed Games Coming Back This Year

Far Cry 5 and a bunch of other games are making a comeback this year according to Ubisoft.

Ubisoft has announced a whole lot to expect from them in the current fiscal year as they confirmed a bunch of new games coming later this fiscal year. The confirmed games include a new Assassin’s Creed game, a sequel to Ubisoft’s racer The Crew and the confirmation that the new Southpark game will be arriving later this year despite being delayed from it’s initial release date. The highlight of the announcement comes as Ubisoft just confirmed that Far Cry will be making a return this year after taking a break for 2 years.

Far Cry 5, the latest entry in Ubisoft’s first-person shooter, will be dropping this year before the end of the current fiscal year. That means we can probably expect it to release before March 31st, 2018. So far there have been no details about the game such as the location and time period that it is going to be set in but we expect Ubisoft to reveal much more than this at E3 2017 that is right around the corner. Ubisoft did say that we’ll learn more about the game “very soon”. Ubisoft also dodged the question about rumors suggesting that the game might have a western setting as it is an unexplored territory for the Far Cry series and a largely popular setting as well.

The last entry in the series, Far Cry Primal, took the series to the prehistoric era which received mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. However, this was considered a spinoff game rather than a main title so Ubisoft will be aiming to regain the fanbase with Far Cry 5 after the amazing adventures of Kyrat that they tooks us with Far Cry 4.

It was confirmed that Far Cry 5 was in development for about 2 years as there was no release in 2017. We believe Alpha for these games needs to be one year before release, We’re trying to achieve that. That’s super f***ing blunt, I don’t even know if I’m allowed to say this. This is the goal we’re going for: Alpha one year before, more quality, more polish.”, This is what VP Tommy Francois had to say about the one year late release.

Stay tuned for more on Far Cry 5!
