Many of you will recall that old soldier game Delta Force, sneaking around those hills trying to figure out which pixels were scenery and which were enemies, then sniping from afar – or getting up close with your knife if you had the skill, ring a bell?

Can you recall the F-22 Raptor? Those were days of flight simulations. Those joysticks! Or how about Commanche, the helicopter combat sim – remember that?

If you managed to remember those games, you should surely remember Novalogic, the the brains behind the operation. The news that THQ Nordic has bought its assets will definitely mean something to you.

The followings series are now under THQ Nordic:

  • Delta Force
  • Comanche
  • Joint Operations
  • Armored Fist
  • Tachyon: The Fringe

  • F-16

There are also a few morethat aren’t listed. The Novalogic trademark also belongs to THQ Nordic’s now as well.

All eyes will now be on THQ Nordic to see what they will do with Novalogic’s series. Much of it  depends on the ideas developers pitch. THQ Nordic has stated it is open to approaches.

“We are extremely satisfied with the new additions to our portfolio, and also very thrilled about how to continue some of said franchises,” said THQ Nordic bizdev director Reinhard Pollice. “We are open for talks in this regard if any developer approaches us with a concept for a potential sequel to any IP.”

I’m divided right now. Delta Force was a big game for me growing up and i was going to suggest a remaster! However would this current generation of gamers welcome 90’s/2000’s gameplay with a loving embrace? Not sure…so that is a gamble.

The ArmA series has kind of taken the mantle for realistic military FPS and does everything i believe Delta Force was aiming for back then. Perhaps you could try to team with Bohemia Interactive to do DLC based off the campaign missions spanning the Delta Force series..

I believe a remaster is a good idea or perhaps an attempt to take that classic gameplay and apply it to a new game in the series.

I think what is most important here is not to take these classic games and turn them into something they are not, fortunately for us you are asking the fans for feedback so i doubt that was your idea to begin with. Thanks for asking!
