The Witcher series has gone on a hiatus, and if we ever see The Witcher 4 it wont star Geralt as the protagonist.
Though the Witcher 4 may or may not arrive in a half decade or so CDPR is not resting on its laurels , and plans to release Cyberpunk 2077 hopefully in the very near future. Recent rumors have suggested that the world of Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be approximately 4 times bigger than The Witcher 3 and all of its DLC’s combined. If the rumors are true than it would really redefine the meaning of an open world RPG, as anyone who has played the game can testify that The Witcher 3 had an enormous world and it took a lot of hours to complete the game in its entirety.
Which brings us to our main piece of news . Recently at a panel at EGX 2017 Doug Cockle who voiced Geralt said that he is not aware of The Witcher 4, or any Witcher game for that matter that is in development. However he may be part of the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 in some sort of capacity. Here’s what he said regarding his involvement with the game.
“What I have discussed is the idea of me being involved somehow. Whether that’s a major part or just an easter egg. I hope so, I really enjoy working with them. But I haven’t had significant contact. We have jokingly talked about it.”
Interesting comments to say the very least. This indicates that perhaps there will be multiple references to The Witcher series in Cyberpunk 2077, as Cockle has mentioned the possibility of Easter Eggs it is highly likely that the Witcher series will be mentioned in one form or another in Cyberpunk 2077’s universe.
