The DC cinematic universe (DCEU) has come under extreme fire by movie critics and fans. Except few films such as Wonder Women and Batman, most of these films have failed to make it big in the box office. Now to make matters worse, people have started criticizing the movies even before their release.
David F. Sanzberg, director of Shazam is being criticized for following a certain comic adaption. Sanzberg tweeted responding that “Not to stop you from having an opinion about something that doesn’t exist yet, it’s the internet after all, but as I designate a movie the obligatory Best/Worst Ever!! I find it helpful sometimes to have more info than a few character names. ”
Sanzberg wanted to adapt “New 52” version of Shazam. The fans however have not liked the idea. One of them has often urged others to boycott the movie unless DCEU gets an entire reboot. Ian Chen, Faith Herman and Jovan Armand will be playing Billy’s friends as Eugene, Darlo and Pedra respectively. All of these characters are from the “New 52”.
Such outbursts from the fans are rather unfair now. Currently, Sanzberg has only revealed the characters from the “New 52” comic book. There is every possibility that the story line might be different. Sanzeberg has urged all of the fans to wait for the trailer atleast before drawing any conclusions.
Billy a young boy meets a wizard and is able to turn into a super hero with 5 simple words Shazam. The Shazam acronym stands for superhero with the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. Shazam is a movie that fans would want to be directed in the best possible way. Keeping the current movie outcomes, it is understandable that fans would want such an important Justice League member to be portrayed effectively to the audience.
