SUICIDE SQUAD Passes The $700 Million Mark Worldwide

Suicide Squad did not receive the greatest reception from film critics and received some pretty poor reviews. It also saw quite a significant second weekend drop, but David Ayer’s film has managed to defy the odds surging to a $700 million global box office haul.

David Ayer took to twitter to thank the cinema audiences with the following tweet:
@SuicideSquadWB Over $700 million World Wide! #humbled #nowords

Suicide squad cost $175 million to make before marketing expenses. It featured a star studded cast with the likes of Will Smith , Margot Robbie ,Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis ,Jai Courtney , Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne , Adam Beach, and Karen Fukuhara in her feature film debut.

The DC comicbook adaptation certainly seemed to divide the fanbase. Margot Robbie’s portrayal of Harley Quinn on the comicbook characters big screen debut was simply brilliant. Will Smith also proved the naysayers wrong with a solid performance as Deadshot. Although majority of critics weren’t impressed Suicide Squad received wide support from a loyal fanbase. Despite its flaws I personally found the movie quite enjoyable and am certainly looking forward to the sequel. What do you guys think? Was Suicide Squad treated unfairly?
