Square Enix Teams Up With Marvel For The Avengers Project

Square Enix and Marvel Entertainment have teamed up to create several games based on The Avengers franchise, the companies announced. An interesting teaser trailer for the project can also be seen.

There is very little we can learn from the short teaser, but it definitely looks to be somewhere that the Avengers may have been defeated as it contains littered artifacts from heroes such as Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, and Hulk. . The voice over suggests that their mission is not just to assemble — but reassemble, as well as leaving room for new heroes to enter the fray.

Reassemble is apparently the slogan of this project, judging from Square Enix and Marvel’s announcement. The development will be handled by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, the studios that are renowned for action-adventure franchises like Tomb Raider and Thief, and also the Deus Ex games. It will be interesting to see how the Avengers are portrayed in this game , and whether or not is there a tie -in with the film series .

While there isn’t any release date as of now from Square Enix and company, it is safe to assume that multiple titles will arrive over the span of a few years.

Marvel had this to say about the project:

The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come. More details on The Avengers project and other games will be announced in 2018.

So further details about the project will arrive in 2018 alongside the next installment in Marvel’s Avengers films, Infinity War which releases on May 4, 2018.
