Sony President Shuhei Yoshida Admits That They held Back At E3 2017

In an interview with Indonesian gaming website Jagatplay Sony Worldwide President Shuhei Yoshida stated that there were things that they chose not to show at their E3 2017. Here is what he had to say when he was asked whether we could expect something bigger at PlayStation experience or the Tokyo gaming Show . Here is what he had to say.

We have no plans to talk about , but there are things that we held , and chose not to show during this E3- of course there will be some more news coming out of our teams later this year”

Even though Sony had a pretty good E3 press conference where it showcased a number of different titles , the stand out amongst which was the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man , which possibly may have Miles Morales as the protagonist , and would be a different take on the everybody’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

However many fans felt that the conference was a tad bit underwhelming , as there was no new IP announcement. Given Sony’s reputation for holding amazing E3 conferences every year perhaps this years conference was a bit muted . Another criticism  by the community was that almost everything that was announced by Sony is coming in 2018 , and there seems to be almost nothing for the year 2017, which makes you wonder what other AAA exclusive will be heading to the PS4 later this year?

Another notable absentee from Sony’s E3 2017 was The Last OF Us 2 , and while fans might have been disappointed by its absence , it seems Naughty Dog and Sony would prefer to patiently build up towards the title, and I believe that this is the right way to go.
