It appears that Sony have sold nearly 2 million consoles this week , that is according to Ubisoft UK’s event specialist and team leader Sunny Sanghera whose Twitter post claimed that this was possibly due to Watchdogs 2 price promotion effect.

According to Sanghera’s LinkedIn he has the following duties at Ubisoft
I am an Events Specialist and Team Leader with eight years of experience in the video games industry. I ha
ve worked on integrated campaigns for major franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Tom Clancy and Far Cry and have been recognised with several awards during my career.

I currently manage a team of six people for Ubisoft, one of the biggest publishers in the video games industry. In this role I am focused on event management, although I also work extensively in sales and marketing. Successes include creating a social media presence for the team which now generates enormous buzz and is key to successful pre-order and launch events for various software titles, and also, managing the team to year on year growth over the last 4 years.

Colleagues know me as a highly creative individual who can always be trusted to come up with a new approach, but I know that the client’s business comes first, and I never try to impose my ideas on others. Instead, I spend a lot of time understanding the business and the audience before making suggestions. I can (and often do) work well alone, but I’m at my best collaborating with others.

I’m always interested in hearing from former and new colleagues, managers, and other industry figures, so feel free to contact me if you’d like to connect.

However the exact numbers at this point is unknown as Sony has not released a statement regarding PS4 hardware sales this week, back in May 2016 though Sony announced that they had sold 40 million units globally. With cyber Monday you can expect Sony to sell even more consoles
