Take Two Is Still Coy On Red Dead Redemption 2 Coming To PC

Red Dead Redemption 2 is perhaps one of the most highly anticipated titles for the near future. The hype just like any other Rockstar game is off the charts . However one major concern that fans of the franchise have had is the fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 is still not available on PC despite multiple petitions, and fan requests.

In a recent earnings call Take Two President Karl Slatoff talked about PC as a platform and how important it was for Take Two as a company. Here’s what he had to say

“It really depends on the title. Some titles are actually heavily weighted to PC, for example, Civilization and XCOM, [but] some titles are less weighted to PC,” . “The great news is that the PC market is vibrant for us. It’s a great market. It’s a big market. It’s a core market.

“These are consumers who are highly engaged. It’s a predominantly digital market, which also removes friction in terms of ongoing engagement with the consumer. So for us, the PC market as a company is very important, very exciting, and something we focus on.”

Whereas when Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked directly whether Red Dead Redemption 2 would be headed to PC , he implied that any and all announcements of such sort will need to come from Rockstar Games.

“Any updates about any of our titles will come from our labels”

So although we do know that the game will be coming out in 2018 , the jury is still out on whether the title will head to PC’s anytime soon. I personally believe that the title should head to PC as it would unlock a whole new market for Take Two . Whether though that happens is altogether a different story.
