A RDR 2 Type New Wild West MMO Is Making It’s Way To PC And It Looks Great

Recently an image supposedly taken from RDR 2 was making the rounds on the internet. Turns out it was for an entirely different game

Wild West Online is a new MMO that is heading to Kickstarter later this month and it is looking amazing. There was an image making rounds on the internet which was rumored to be a leaked screenshot from Rockstar’s upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2. It was later confirmed that this was indeed another game and it hopefully aims to bring the massive and exciting setting of the wild, wild west to PC as both the first Red Dead Redemption and it’s sequel RDR 2 have not made it onto the platform (yet).

The developers of the game are excited to bring this setting to PC saying that it is going to serve to a large audience that has been waiting for a game like this to happen.

“There’s an audience for this that just wasn’t being served on PC. So we wanted to make this big, open Wild West world with a bit of a twist that, like the best MMOs, is a place where people can really live”, said the vice president of DJ2 (publishers of the game).

612 Games, the people behind the game, are heavily experienced people that have worked on many notable games in the past such as Crysis and League of Legends. With Wild West Online, they aim to bring a PvP MMO experience that is more expansive and diverse than the multiplayer that Red Dead Redemption offered.

There will be classes and an economy system along with law enforcement mechanisms too. These features, if correctly implemented, could be very fun as a bounty system enables other players to hunt down a certain high value target and much more.

The developers have promised more impressive features such as train robberies to come to game if the game smashes it’s Kickstarter fund. As support grows, 612 Games are keen to state that a continuous supply of content such as game modes and upgrades will keep flowing in as development continues.

Wild West Online is expected to come out later this year if the Kickstarter fund goes according to plan so keep checking back for more on info. Stay tuned!
