Sony has announced that it is set to conduct routine maintenance on the PlayStation Network next week. The only platform that will be affected is the PlayStation 4 revealed Sony in an update to its PSN status page.
The maintenance will take one-hour running from 10:30 PM PT to 11:30 PM PT on October 25, which is the equivalent to 1:30 AM ET to 2:30 AM ET on October 26. Players can still sign into PSN, play games, and use “most” applications during the course of the maintenance although Account Management, PlayStation Video, and PlayStation Store will be unavailable.
“We apologize for any inconvenience,” Sony said. “We strive to ensure that PlayStation Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements. We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance.”
The latest PS4 update was the 4.01, which was released earlier this month. Although it improved the quality of system performance it did little else as it didn’t add any new features.
The consoles last major update was the PS4 4.00 which was released in September. It featured folders for managing games and apps, redesigned menus and added HDR support for all PS4s.
The PS4 Slim was released in September with a $300 price tag. Sony is set to launch its new, more powerful PS4 Pro in November with this one priced at $400.
