This is an extremely serious matter and for the safety of your PS4 we would urge you to not download the update at all. The problem reportedly takes place in the in-game invitational feature. The worst part is that there have been claims that entire PS4 consoles have been bricked due to the update. Several others have also reported that their systems have completely crashed or they have experienced Corrupted hard drives.
The update was for the recently commenced third season of Rainbow Six Siege. The update so far has worked smoothly on both the PC and the Xbox One , and for now the trouble only seems to be associated with the PS4.
At this time it probably would be best to not download the update at all, as there is no inclination as to what might be causing the issue. There is uncertainty surrounding the solution. It’s possible that a solution might arrive within a few hours, or it could possibly take a couple of days to get fixed. Either way Ubisoft is looking into the problem.
