Project CARS 2 was technically revealed quite a while ago. Soon after the release of the first game, the devs Slightly Mad started a Kickstarter looking to fund the potential sequel but this saw them receive backlash from the gaming community, so little more was heard regarding the game over the course of the next couple of years. But now it’s time for people who were looking forward to a sequel to rejoice as Slightly Mad alongside Bandai Namco Entertainment have officially revealed the Project CARS 2 Announcement Trailer.
According to the official announcement:
“Project CARS 2 is the next evolution in the award-winning racing series, featuring the most iconic cars under the most thrilling of conditions to deliver the “Ultimate Driver Journey” experience and adrenaline rush.”
As for the release date the game is expected to come out in late 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This surely confirms that the game is deep in the development stage since there are less than ten months left in the year. Judging from the trailer which showcased some impressive graphics the game looks awesome.
But don’t go thinking that the team only made the game look good since they have given gameplay a lot of attention as well making plenty of additions and improvements on the first game. These include over 170 licensed cars, the largest track selection of any console racer, dynamic time and weather systems, full VR support and up to 12K resolution.
“Project CARS 2 features the widest variety of motorsports now including Rallycross and IndyCar. Race without boundaries with any car across varying track surfaces and dynamic environmental conditions, including ice, tarmac, gravel, mud or dirt. Day or night, wet or dry.”
Project CARS may have had its shortcomings, but it certainly became a hit amongst car racinggamers and Project CARS 2 will hopefully address any previous issues and deliver an even better experience than the first game.
