Producer Leaves Platinum Games After Scalebound Cancellation

Perhaps the biggest bummer in recent video game history is the cancellation of Platinum Game’s Scalebound. And now the studio’s creative producer for the game JP Kellams is leaving the company.

Kellams in his tenure was responsible for the writing on vanquish , and worked for the English adaptation for Platinum Games on games such a Bayonetta.he was also a creative producer on the Cancelled Xbox One exclusive title Scalebound.

Here is what he said on his Instagram Post

“15 years ago, I came to Japan to fulfill my childhood dream of making games with my heroes,” Kellams said in the post. “No matter how hard the day, I always walked into the office in awe of the creativity around me, and with the joy that working with each and every one of my coworkers brought me. It is hard to say goodbye to them, to Platinum Games, and to Japan. Yet, embracing new challenges is part of my DNA, and after almost 10 years of working with the team (more with my Capcom / Clover days), it is time to move on to new challenges that I’m excited to share soon. I’ll be forever grateful to all people who have touched this journey, because they’ve shaped who I am.”

One would suspect that the move comes after the cancellation of Scalebound , which was a huge let down for Xbox fans , the game promised so much and yet it was an utter disappointment for it to be cancelled.

back in January Platinum Games had apologized to the fans for the games cancellation , however till this day there has been no clear answer as to why exactly was the game cancelled.

We wish JP Kellum the best for his future endeavors , and hope that some day we might get to see Scalebound appear on a Next-Gen console.
