If you missed out on it then don’t worry, you are at a better position than most of us because the Pokémon Go Fest was horrible!
Those who travelled from across town spent time in the scorching sun but were unable to get their hands on the game, only because of massive bugs and errors in the server. The heat was felt most by Niantic, the developer of the game, as they were shocked a bit too much to witness this disastrous event. In a small press conference, a spokesperson represented the development team and here’s what he said:
“Obviously they can’t completely make it up to all the people who have come out to Chicago today, but they want to extend the fact that they’re extremely apologetic and unhappy with the process and the results. So hopefully this is something that we will never see replicated again, learn from this and move on.”
During the Fest, Niantic already began to make amends. Since the attendees were angry and loud due to their inability to play the game during the day, the developers offered compensation. At first, the promise was of $100 of in-game currency to all those who had the ticket but after that a full refund was offered to everyone for their $20 wristbands. Here is what the spokesperson said further:
“Just know that the staff here are pretty horrified with the results, so they want to make good as fast as possible. I’m super sorry guys — I’m really sorry especially for everyone who traveled international, East Coast, from all over. So this clearly was not what we were hoping for today. Thanks for your patience.”
Well, even small scale Pokémon Go events managed in Europe has a better start. Let us know in the comments section below what your thoughts are about this??
