Microsoft is not the only company that is teasing the plans it has for E3 2017. The president of Nintendo America, Reggie Fils-Amie spoke to Fox News that they have “big” things in store for the show of this year. Here’s what he said:
“E3 is always a big time for Nintendo, we look at each E3 as a unique opportunity to tell our story. And we’re gonna have a big E3 this year. We’re going to be showcasing a variety of games.”
As Fils-Aime buckers away from offering specs about the plans of Nintendo, he said that the company is going to be Nintendo Switch and 3DS on display at E3,
“I’m not gonna tell you all of the various games and all of our little secrets for E3, but I can tell you that E3 is going to be a major opportunity for us to showcase not only Nintendo Switch, but also content coming to Nintendo 3DS.”
As we all know E3 2017 is going to be open for the public to attend; this is the first time that this happens in the history of the show, and Reggie seems to echo the sentiments that it is a good move as it will be encouraging new people to be interested in gaming.
He even spoke about how it isn’t easy to forecast where the video game industry is going, it is in fact, growing.
“I think anyone who says they know where this industry is going is really not knowledgeable about the industry, given that at its heart, it’s all about innovation and creativity.”
Since a few years, Nintendo has held a traditional E3 briefing rather than just opting for offsite Nintendo Direct presentations and live streams of Nintendo Treehouse.
