New Bioware IP To Release In 2018

Bioware publisher EA mentioned Mass Effect studio’s new IP and revealed that it will be coming out next year, during an investors conference call today. According to rumors the Bioware IP has been in development since 2012. EA CEO Andrew Wilson says that the Bioware IP will be an action adventure game instead of an RPG. Despite Wilson stating that the game isn’t an RPG, it will still feature certain RPG elements such as character development and story progression.

With the fact that we previously never had word of this game, a year’s time seems pretty short. According to BioWare’s Aaryn Flynn we’ll receive more information about the game in the following months so we’ll certainly be keeping track.

“In 2012, we began crafting a new universe full of new characters, stories, and gameplay. Our ambition is simple: Draw upon 20+ years of development knowledge and lessons to create something fun and new for you to enjoy with your friends.”

The game was apparently revealed at GDC last year in a way which no one seemed to notice. But that seems highly unlikely as people usually have a keen eye during these sorts of events. Nevertheless we do have affirmation that there is a new Bioware IP releasing next year which will have its similarities and differences with previous titles. The release date for the game is reportedly 31st March 2018. So it seems that the game is set to come out a lot sooner than anyone would have expected

Currently the next Bioware title on the cards is the highly anticipated Mass Effect Andromeda, which releases on the 21st of March 2017. It is certainly a game that should be on most gamers wish list, let’s just hope it lives up to the hype and ends up delivering. What do you think the next Bioware IP is?
