They Keyboard and mouse support for Xbox One has been touted multiple times , and although its still coming sooner rather than later , many feel that it would provide an unfair advantage in for e.g online multiplayer over those who use a controller.
Mouse and Keyboard is still coming to Xbox One but the ‘How’ meaning how it will work on the console will vary according to developers and this was all confirmed by Xbox director Mike Ybarra at the PAX West panel this weekend stating that they are “Definitely Coming”. also addressing the issue that players who have a mouse and a keyboard will have superior precision than the ones who are using a controller. we’ll also be seeing the titles who support the God-like feature pretty soon.
Mike Ybarra has also been getting some backlash from the community about the unfairness it will cause and to clarify that he said the company will “Coach” the developers accordingly so that such events may not occur , Furthermore he clarified that the ultimate choice will be with the player , and whether or not they want to play with someone who uses a keyboard or mouse or a controller.
Mike Ybarra added that “If you have a competitive game, people probably are going to want the choice to say I’ll play with other keyboard and mouse people or I’ll play only with controller people, or that I’ll play with any of those,” and “So you’ll see our first games supporting keyboard and mouse soon; I can’t announce what that is, but soon. And then based on developer interest, they’ll choose to do keyboard and mouse going forward, or not.”
For now though the Redmond based giants are busy balancing the keyboard and mouse setup by crossplaying Gears Of War 4 . Which is a cross platform title, and I sincerely hope that they can properly balance the keyboard and mouse so those that are using the peripheral do not gain an unfair advantage over those who use a controller.
