Touted by many as the most powerful console in existence it will be interesting to see what Microsoft and the devs at Xbox have in store for us. With this having had been the year of Sony when it comes to exclusives , many are looking at Scorpio as Microsoft’s savior this year. Most recently Phil Spencer the head huncho of Xbox stated that he was very confident about the ability of Xbox One Scorpio. Replying to a fan on Twitter here is what he had to say.
I’m very confident, from what we are seeing and hearing, Scorpio will be the very best console version of games this year..
A frequent criticism of Xbox One Scorpio has been the price point and back in April in an exclusive with Guardian Spencer stated that they could probably make a juiced up console for $2000 but the price parity was just not there.
“If you said to me, ‘could you or another console manufacturer design a $2,000 console that ran, like, two Titan Xs SLI-d together?’ Then yeah, we could do it. But the console price points aren’t there. If you’re willing to spend a couple of grand building up an i7-based machine with umpteen terabytes of RAM, you can go do that on a PC. But I actually feel with Scorpio we’ve been able to hit a really nice price/performance ratio. When we talk about the price, I think people will see that. It is a premium product, there’s no doubt, but I think relative to the PC that you could go buy at this spec, you’re gonna feel really good.”
