Reports Suggest That Metroid Prime 4 Is Being Developed By Bandai Namco Singapore

Nintendo recently disclosed that Metroid Prime 4 was not being developed by Retro Studios. This news came as a surprise as all the previous installments of the cult franchise were developed by Retro Studios. The latest announcement coming from Nintendo created a buzz on the internet with numerous rumors and speculations on who might the newest developer be? The disclosure by Nintendo came in 2017 when the logo of Metroid Prime 4 was revealed.

One of the most recent development comes from Eurogamer. The website claims that Bandai Namco Singapore will be responsible for developing the Metroid Prime 4. The report by Eurogamer had this to say on the issue “Specifically, the highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch exclusive is being developed by Bandai Namco Studios Singapore, which we understand is lead studio on the game in collaboration with Nintendo,” Eurogamer said. “This studio houses some former LucasArts Singapore staff who previously worked on, among other things, the ambitious cancelled Star Wars 1313.”

Other than Eurogamer there have been various evidences on the internet that prove that Bandai Namco is behind the game. As reported by Press-start, a Youtuber on February 7 posted a video claiming that a lead designer of Bandai Namco in his Linkedin profile had mentioned that  the studio was working on an Unannounced Game (First Person Shooter/Adventure Exclusive to Nintendo Switch) as well as Ridge Racer 8 as a Switch exclusive.

Currently nothing is confirmed by Nintendo and these are all rumors for the time being. If this news proves to be true then it would be for the first time that the Metroid Prime would be developed by a studio other than Retro Studios. We will have to wait and find out the true mystery regarding the developer.
