He-Man and the Masters Of The Universe are all set to make a comeback with David Goyer set to direct.
If you’re a comic book fan then this is the without a doubt the best century to be alive in. In the past few years we have seen some of the most iconic comic book characters come to life in movie adaptions. What’s more, these movies are produced by different studios which promotes competition and increases the quality of the films being produce.
Another trend that we can see in the upcoming years is the adaption of cartoon and animes into films. One popular cartoon series that can come to the big screen is He-man and the Masters of the Universe. Sony is interested to head the project and according to Screen Rant is in talks with David S Goyer.
For those of you who don’t know Goyer, he has written Superman Vs Batman: Dawn of Justice and Batman Begins. Goyer in addition to the two prominent DC names has years of experience when it comes to comic book adaptions. One such adaption is the Blade Trinity movies. Goyer is also set to write the script for Green Lantern Corps and may be the right man for the job.
Initially, the movie was supposed to be directed by MCG, but the project never took off. Sony has long tried to attain this project from Mattel and now has finally succeeded. There are rumors that the movie will be released in 2019 but what exactly the story line will be is still unknown.
Like any super hero movie, Masters of the Universe in our opinion will be a origin story of He-Man (Adam) and Eternia. Pulling anime adaptions in the past has always proved to be a challenge, it would be interesting to see how Sony goes on about with the Masters of the Universe remake
