Marvel, like in its movies has beautifully crafted an interconnected universe in its TV show line as well. The comic book company has done well to amalgamate Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Daredevil in one faction as the Defenders.
In the last decade or so we have seen a large number of entertainment companies making clichéd form of superhero movies. Fans now wanted something different and Marvel was the first to tap the superhero alliance gap in the market. Such factions not only captivate the interest of the audience but also bolster the marketing of individual shows. Take the third season for Daredevil for instance.
After the Defenders, it was quite apparent as to where Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage would go. But there wasn’t much certainty about the role of Matt Murdock or the Daredevil. Fans were left thinking that Daredevil lost his life in the Midland Circle building collapse incident. However, there is a twist in the tale.
Daredevil Season 3 is beginning production this October, which somehow relays the message that Murdock survived and will be in the third season to entertain us once again. The latest season would be known as the born again, which relates to the Daredevil comic by the same name and would revolve around how the Daredevil was born again. This is confirmed when a nun addresses Sister Maggie, who in the comics, is the mother of Matt Murdock. If this is the case, we may see Vincent D’Onofrio reprise his role as Wilson Fisk A.K.A Kingpin.
Such interconnection clearly arouses the curiosity levels of fans and makes them wanting for more. Further the audience is always on its toes and finding hints and developing fan based theories due to such vastness of the interconnected universe.
