Capcom announced today that Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite will be scheduled for a release for PS4 ,Xbox One and Windows PC.

The game which is famous for blending together iconic mainstream characters from the Marvel universe in a dream team match against the legends of Capcom will be released somewhere around late 2017.The latest entry in the series which has so far cumulatively shipped 7 million units is currently under development

Its good to see a fan favorite returning however what catches the eye is another statement made by Capcom , which is as follows

In addition to regular major title releases each fiscal year, Capcom is currently focused on reviving series that have not had new entries recently, or otherwise dormant IP. Beginning with MARVEL VS. CAPCOM: INFINITE, a return for the series following a five-year hiatus, Capcom looks to enhance its corporate value even further by utilizing its library of rich contents.

What’s exciting about this is the fact that Capcom in the past have had games which were major attractions and although one can argue that they have fallen of the proverbial wagon in recent times, there was a time when Capcom had stellar titles such as the Lost Planet Series and Devil May Cry amongst others.

Anyone who has grown up in the 90’s will also remember the hugely popular Dino Crisis, the game was a smash hit , and it would be a joy to see it return to current generation consoles. Needless to say that this indeed is great news as it will allow Capcom to bring back some of the classics, and quite possibly allow them to embark in a new and successful era at the same time.
