Marvel Games and Marvel Entertainment have had a pretty busy year so far around as distributors with the release of TellTale Games Guardians Of The Galaxy, and the upcoming Spider-Man PS4 game possibly also coming out in 2017.However it appears their plans wont stop there, and the next item on the agenda is VR gaming.
In a recent interview with GameSpot Marvel Games Jay Ong discussed about their upcoming titles and this is what he had to say
“Absolutely. In fact, we did a deep dive in looking at the space towards the end of last year, and it offers some pretty incredible opportunities, in terms of delivering really cool experiences. We can’t say anything yet, but believe me, we’re not shying away from it.”
Ong did not give out any specific information , but he did tease the fact that they would be taking the VR route in the near future , When asked more about Marvel Games and VR he responded by saying “soon.” He then continued by saying “There are absolutely things in the works, but we’re just not quite ready to announce them yet.”
So it does look very likely that a VR title from Marvel Games may be coming out sooner rather than later.Imagine being able to wear the guise of your favorite superhero and mimic each and every one of their moves, and have the opportunity to “proverbially ” walk in their shoes. Sounds neat doesn’t it it? This is exactly what you will be able to do if Marvel games does go through the route of VR gaming.
However any VR title will have to wait as for now the focus will shift to Spider-Man PS4 as many have marked it out for a 2017 release, in any case the future of Marvel Games does appear to be bright.
