Mario Kart 8, which originally launched for the Wii U, was one of the consoles biggest hits. Taking advantage of the game’s success, Nintendo has decided to directly port the game to the Switch with some extra features instead of developing a new game over the course of a few years. And now ahead of the release of the port, Nintendo has unvieled Mario Kart 8’s Deluxe trailer.
The trailer showcases the games newest features, encouraging players that are hesitant to re-buy the game for the Switch. The trailer shows off the games character roster, including the original characters, as well as the DLC characters like Isabelle and Link. The trailer follows this by announcing the characters that are exclusive to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, including King Boo, Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl.
Two returning items, the Boo and Feather items, are also shown along with their description. These two items were missing from the original version Mario Kart 8. The game also marks the return of double items, and the trailer has a short clip of them in use.
200cc is also talked about in the trailer, along with the Smart steering feature to help make the game easier for beginners. 200cc was originally added as free DLC for the Wii U version of the game. Finally, the trailer gives a sneak peek at the completely revamped Battle Mode in the game, which looks great.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is slated for release on Friday, the 28th of April, meaning we have about a week till the launch of the game. The gane will release for the Nintendo Switch.
