James Mongold decided to honor fans request of a black and white Logan film
Hugh Jackman finally bid farewell to his fans in his last X-Men installment. Hugh Jackman has depicted Wolverine’s character in the best possible way. He is as close as someone could get to the Wolverine we saw in the comics. Fans over the years have gone in love with Hugh Jackman and are having difficulty accepting the fact that he will never play the role of Wolverine again.
Well fans now have something to cheer about. Fans since the early days of Logan had hoped to get a black and white cut of the movie. Now their requests are finally being entertained as the black and white film is finally set to hit the theatres.
We believe as this was the last time Hugh Jackman was playing as Wolverine, James Mongold has finally decided to honor the plans by making this cut. He announced the project way back in March and has done well to complete it in less than three months. The movie is not set to get a blue ray release but will be screened on theatres for a brief period of time on May 16th. Mangold tweeted the news on April 29, urging fans not to make any plans for the evening of May 16.
As reported by GamesSpot, Mongold said that the movie was also regarded to make the new look work out. He further said that “I think it surprised everyone,” he added that “There is a kind of a running assumption that black-and-white is a turn-off for most people. It caused such an extreme reaction, and so much appreciation for these pictures, and then people immediately wondering if the film itself was going to be in black and white. We are giving it a whirl–I think it will be a very handsome black-and-white version of the picture.”
