Katie Cassidy Will be Returning To Arrow For Two Episodes

Katie Cassidy is due to return to Arrow for two episodes; 22nd and 23rd of the current season and is going to be a regular in the next season.

Fans can recall Katie Cassidy’s original identity in Arrow as attorney Laurel Lance and crime-fighting super heroine, Black Canary who dies later in the fourth season.

This basically tells us that she isn’t returning as Black Canary but as Black Siren who is the doppelganger of Canary from Earth 2. This new was revealed by E! News.

The executive producer of the show, Marc Guggenheim gave a statement saying the following,

“One of the things that most excites us about arrow is that we go where the story takes us. Last year, the story took us to the tragic death of Laurel Lance. This year, our midseason finale reintroduced us to Laurel’s doppelganger, Black Siren. We were so taken by Katie’s fearless interpretation of this character that we knew her story was not yet finished. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Katir back to Arrow as Black Siren, though as her appearances on Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow this season show, she never really left the family.”

The debut of Black Canary was back in 1947 in DC’s Flash Comics #86 where she had been created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino.

On the show, Arrow, the sister of Laurel, Sara, operates as Black Canary for a while in order to help protect Starling City through vigilantism with Stephen Amell’s character.

Although, Sara ends up dying in the end of season three which left Laurel alone to presume the mantle of Black Canary in the helping of her hometown. sara is then re-incarnated and takes up the mantle of White Canary and joins The Legends in the spinoff show Legends Of Tomorrow

Being a regular on the show, Katie has been there since 2012 – the show was developed by Guggenheim, Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg.
