Horizon Zero Dawn has managed to beat The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of The Wild to top the gaming charts in UK. Horizon Zero Dawn has thus bigger PlayStation’s biggest ever new IP launch and has beaten Zelda BOTW by a considerable margin.
It is also currently the biggest launch of the year and perhaps has generated the most hype since Uncharted 4: A Thieves End the previous year.Hence we can safely say that all the hype surrounding the game has indeed come to fruition, and that developers Guerrilla Games have certainly outdone themselves this time around.
Breath Of The Wild meanwhile ranked as the third most successful game in the history of the franchise behind Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. 78% of the games sales were for Nintendo’s Newest console Switch, while 22% were for Wii U.
The game also accounted for 75% of total Switch software sales for the week which in itself is a phenomenal achievement. There were two other Nintendo Switch games which made it into the top ten which were 1-2 Switch and Super Bomberman R , at numbers 4 and 7 respectively.3 entries in the top 10 is not to bad for a console previously criticized for a weak launch lineup.
Other significant moves see’s Call Of Duty : Infinite Warfare drop finally out of the top ten while EA DICE’s Battlefield 1 holds on to the tenth spot.
