Horizon: Zero Dawn was a huge success for Sony and Guerrilla Games and although the game hasn’t received any awards officially, Sony are going with a Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition for it already!
The news leaked for a short while on Play-Asia which showed that the GOTY edition of the game would release on December 7 (it is now confirmed to be December 5), which is little over a month after the game’s first
DLC release “The Frozen Wilds”, and is now confirmed. It will be called Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition which will include all the post-release content and a few in-game bonus items.
A game receiving a complete edition or a GOTY edition with all of it’s DLC bundled up in one physical package is not uncommon. A lot of games get a complete edition way before they actually are awarded for being Game of the Year. Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of those games now that it’s getting it’s own complete edition before getting an actual GOTY award (which we most definitely expect it to get).
The time frame in which the Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition is releasing is quite bizarre as the DLC drops exactly one month before it’s release. The complete edition will retail for USD $50 and the target market for this is probably those who haven’t bought the base game yet and are looking to experience the DLC of the game in one single purchase.
Now that the announcement about the complete edition is confirmed, will you be picking it up? Horizon: Zero Dawn received massive appraisal from critics and consumers alike and we definitely recommend it if you haven’t already played it, waiting for the complete edition would be the perfect time to get it. You will get The Frozen Wilds and a lot of bonus in-game content that will help you with your journey as Aloy.
