In a teleconference, the CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick told its investors the following:
“We’re excited about Switch. We’re supporting Switch with NBA 2K18. We’ve said we’re supporting the platform. I’ve said over and over again that when Nintendo comes to market you never want to count them out. So, we’re excited about it. The only thing we’ve announced so far is the basketball title.”
Previously, Take-Two did say that they are fascinated by the console. It is still not sure whether the title of Grand Theft Auto will come to Switch or not .The only game of GTA that came to a console of Nintendo was GTA: Chinatown Wars launched in DS back in 2009.
The only game by Take-Two which is confirmed by Switch is NBA 2K18. Moreover, GTA V just sold about 75 million copies but December 2016 witnessed more GTA online players since it was released. The statistics and reach of the game remains to amuse everyone as it sold around 6 million units in the UK alone and also outsold Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in the UK in the previous year. As per reports, GTA V is also the fourth most-played game on Steam in 2016.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the next huge title by Rockstar Games and will be released this year. Although, there is no word for it on Switch but it has been confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One.
The upcoming console by Nintendo will be launching on the 3rd of March and is priced at USD300/£280/AUD470. The release lineup of Switch is going to increase between now and the day of official release. However, it is not sure that there will be lots of release titles as there were for Wii U and they were 23. Nintendo of America president spoke Reggie Fils-Aime to focus on the launch which is “not the be-all and the end-all”.
