God Of War: Cory Barlog Reveals How Kratos Crossed Over Into The Norse Mythology

God of War is all set to be released in early 2018 and it is one of the most highly anticipated titles in recent times. We know that Kratos has burned down Olympus and taken his revenge on all the Gods. Yet it still remains a mystery as to how he wound up in the Norse Mythology.

Recently whilst answering fan questions on Twitter Cory Barlog revealed some interesting tid bits about how Kratos comes to the shores of Nordic lands in God of War. Here is what he had to say .

This clears up one important thing that in the games world the Norse mythology and the Greek mythology exist in the same era as other mythologies, and are only separated by geographical distance. Who knows perhaps in the future we can see Kratos in a different mythology altogether, hunting down Gods and Myths and creating chaos were ever he goes.

In all seriousness though it does explain how Kratos was able to venture to new lands, and yet at the same time we still don’t have an inkling as to how he got there in the first place, and managed to father a child who we now know goes by the name of Atreus.

Barlog also explained how the Lost Pages of Norse Mythology tie in to Kratos’s new life.

It seems the decision for a God of War soft reboot was a great idea. Despite initial criticism the Norse world and myths are shaping up as a perfect prologue , and it seems like the new God of War will include a wide spanning story arc , which will serve as the basis of new instalments in an already popular franchise.

Will we see Kratos battle epic Gods from Norse mythology such as Thor and Odin? Let us know by commenting in the comments section below.
