Gearbox Explains Why “Borderlands 3” Release Is Taking Time

Recently in an interview with IGN Gearbox Studios , President Randy Pitchford talked about Borderlands 3 and why its taking so long to be released. Borderland 2 was released back in 2012 with another year filled with content for the game and so after that the fans have been steadily and loyally awaiting the third installment in the series which Randy Pitchford is well aware and saying that the team is working on to give the players something worthy of their praise that they can cherish saying that the studio is working on a game that is worthy of the fans appreciation and that is something that we cant come up with overnight, it obviously does take time.

“The easiest thing in the world would be for us to churn out a lot of Pre-Sequels, and we could make a lot of money,” moreover “We’re going to work on it, and when we think we’ve had it—we’re not going to announce anything until we think we have something worthy of announcing. And then we’ll set expectations on that.”

However doubts remain about Borderlands 3 , and during PAX WEST 2017 Gearbox showed a demo of the upcoming game in the Unreal Engine, however they for legal purposes could not name the game. Yet Pitchford also confirmed that the game would be a sequel to Borderlands 2, hence we arrive at a conclusion that the game would be a new chapter of the series , though it might not be called Borderlands 3.

Borderlands 3 it seems will be released somewhere around 2018. Publisher Take Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick also hinted the same giving the fans a time period between the 2,d quarter of 2018, and the 1st quarter of 2019.
