The salaries of HBO’s fantasy series Game of Thrones actors have been revealed and it’s fair to say they do bag a pretty penny.
A survey carried out by US publication variety revealed a list of the highest paid actors in TV and it has come as no surprise that the leading actors of GoT were placed pretty high on it.
House Lannister is undoubtedly the richest House in George RR Martin’s world and while Tywin Lannister shits gold, the actors portraying his children aren’t doing bad either with Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), Lena Headey (Cersie) and Nikolai-Coster-Waldau (Jamie) all bagging a whopping £393,000 ($500,000) per episode each.
Emilia Clarke, who portrays Daenerys Targaryen, and her apparent nephew, everyone’s favorite bastard (sorry Ramsay) and newly crowned King in the North Jon Snow’s actor Kit Harington also bag the same amount as the Lannister siblings.
Although cast of Game of Thrones are making some decent cash, to say the least, In no way does that mean that their characters are safe with almost anyone expendable. Sophie Turner, who plays the gorgeous redhead Sansa Stark, recently teased that even more characters will face the axe in season seven: “We’ve got one more season… well, not all of us.”
The British actress also dropped a major spoiler for the upcoming season, which has been delayed, while at the red carpet at the 68th Emmy Awards last month.
On how she felt after she read her script for the first time, she stated “I was actually speechless. This season is unbelievable and I think fans are going to be really satisfied. It’s crazy.”
This revelation came soon after her co-star and Stark sister Maisie Williams warned fans that “nothing will prepare” them for season seven.
Addressing her 1.44million fans on twitter, she tweeted: “Just finished reading season 7” before adding: “S*** gets REAL.”
Then continued: “I’d start preparing yourselves now” but later warned: “Scratch that, nothing will prepare you for this.”
