HBO’s adaptation of George RR Martin’s fantasy drama was successful in three categories at Sunday’s awards, including outstanding drama series for a second year in a row.

This takes the show’s total tally to 38, which means it has overtaken Frasier’s previous record of 37. Following nine Creative Arts Emmy wins last week and a total of 24 nominations this year, GoT was one shy from 2015 but actually up in major categories from last year. Since its inception GoT has amassed a staggering 106 nominations. This year’s 12 wins tie the series record that GoT managed in 2015. It however failed to top the all time single year Emmy record of 13 victories that belonged to the 2008 John Adams miniseries
