The Wolfhall takes a look at why the journey isn’t over for Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones is a show that is set high standards for TV shows across the world. The captivating story lines along with plot twists have mesmerized TV audiences. The show is considered HBO’s biggest hit in the last ten years and is the show that is looked upon.

In our opinion what the show does best is the surprise and suspense element that it creates. After creating curiosity in the minds of the consumer, it then makes them wait which further augments the thirst for the show. Games of Thrones has had eight seasons but fans still watch it like it’s the very first episode of the very first season.

Game of Thrones ninth and final season will be aired in 2019. But due to widespread support of the show, the directors and producers won’t end it there. Reports indicate that multiple spin offs the show will be produced. Writers are already in works to develop these spinoffs and they also have the blessing of HBO’s CEO. This also is said to include a Game Of Thrones Prequel as well.

HBO’s chairman and CEO Richard Plepler in an interview to the Variety expressed confidence in the Game of Thrones upcoming spinoffs overshadowing any competition. He said that We’re not trying to be Netflix,” he added. “They have grown, we’ve grown. The reason I think we over-index in each other’s homes is [our customers] are entertainment junkies, they like great entertainment. It’s never been about them or us.” He also expressed confidence in the writers for the new spinoffs saying that it’s a fantastic group of writers and talent, most of whom have lived inside the Thrones eco-system so are very, very familiar with its intricacies.”

It looks like we will have to wait for quite some time to say goodbye to Game of Thrones. As long as it pays dividends we may continue seeing new spinoffs.
