Gambit’s Production All Set To Start Next Year

Over the years we have seen a huge array of X-men movies and characters. Among these mutants Wolverine, Professor X and Magneto have made the most appearances and are anchored well in the minds of the audience. Fox now however has decided to focus more on some of the other X-Men characters as well.

Yes, if you thought we were talking about Gambit, you’ve got it damn right. If you’re a childhood X-Men fan and have viewed all the comics and the animated series, Gambit sure will hold a special position in your hearts. The character has frequently appeared in X-Men video games and TV shows. Now, Fox has finally decided to give the character his very own origin movie, named Gambit.

Gambit is headed for production in March 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Gore Verbenski is set to direct the film. Movie production is set to last 70 days with a $155 million budget in mind. If the expected budget is approved this is expected to be the most expensive standalone X-Men movie following X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

I am not a big fan of Channing Tatum portraying the titular character and I believe that he might not be able to capture the essence of the character well. However I might be wrong and Tatum might produce one of his best performances , but I have a strong feeling that wont be the case.

The movie if produced properly can further expand the myriad X-Men universe. Moreover, Disney is also set to acquire Fox. The deal is still awaiting the US Department of Justice approval. If the deal goes through the arrival of Disney could further strengthen the movie by adding another dimension to it.
