For the first time in four years, FIFA 17 introduced a surprising change. Messi was replaced as the cover star of the game by the German International and Borussia Dortmund’s new Captain Marco Reus. The player won most of the 3.1 million votes caste, beating the likes of Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, and Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez. The FIFA 17 website had huge praise for the young captain, “Strong with either foot, lethal from a dead ball, and with a knack for scoring important goals, the German international has featured in the Bundesliga Team of the Year four times and is the heart and soul of his hometown club.”
With Marco Reus on cover, EA Sports promises to deliver a much improved gameplay, and an even more amazing experience with the latest installment of the game due to be released later this year. Powered by Frostbite in this edition, FIFA 17 offers a new dynamic and an even more realistic virtual experience on and off the pitch. Parts of the much hyped improvements include new opportunities and exciting new features on the much expanded career mode which will feature managers on the sidelines for the first time in the game’s history. Also, it is reported that a new user-focused mode called “The Journey” will be included in this year’s edition, and new features regarding choices on pitch have been added as well. Fans globally will be desperately waiting for the release of the game, eager to experience the most comprehensive football experience virtually for themselves.
