Today, on Nintendo’s official Japanese website, an announcement was made on a blogpost with respect to Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time that a Nintendo Switch version will be coming out.
Prior to this news, all that we knew was that a Switch version for the game was only being considered which was backed up by the creator of Dragon Quest series mentioning a Switch version in an interview for a magazine.
The blog post actually shares more information with respect to the news to debut at Jump Festa 2017 this weekend, in the end it was mentioned that:
“It should be noted that this title is also planned for release on Nintendo Switch.”
This is news because the Switch version of the game was not mentioned when the game was confirmed to be released in 2017 in Japan on PS4 and 3DS this weekend. An official press release was put up by Square Enix today but once again, there was no mention of the Switch.
It is still yet to be known whether the Switch version will use the PS4 versions Unreal Engine 4 visuals, 3D versions 2D/3D visuals or will have its own stratagem.
We’ll have to wait till its release in 2017 to find out.
