Quantic Dreams Detroit: Become Human has been teased for quite a while now , and yet the gaming community knows very little about the game and its story.
All we know about the story is that the plot revolves around 3 different androids namely Kara an Android with artificial consciousness, Connor a Police Android tasked with hunting down Androids who have deviated from their programing, and Markus who is an Android trying to break other Androids free from their shackles.
In a recent interview with the Official PlayStation magazine , Quantic Dreams founder David Cage revealed that the team had to cut some scenes from Detroit: Become Human. he felt it necessary to do so because he thought that the scenes could possibly cause a misrepresentation of the game’s message and he wanted the message to be clear and precise. Here’s what he had to say.
“Honestly, I canceled a couple of scenes where I felt the meaning could be interpreted wrongly. It was a very interesting thing for me because it made me realize that with Detroit: Become Human, that we are dealing with very meaningful things and that you need to be careful and be respectful and pay attention to what you have to say.”
The whole thing has a very BladeRunner sought of vibe to it and maybe the game’s story may have touched upon an extremely controversial subject, which may have prompted the higher ups to make such a decision.
It is unknown when Detroit: Become Human will be released . However the premise of the game and the storyline does sound very promising. With the player’s choices able to shape the destiny of the characters it is indeed going to be interesting to see how the game performs once it comes out on the PS4 somewhere around 2018.
