After months of waiting and speculation Bungie has officially announced Destiny 2. And only one day after the games announcement, Bungie is back with a cinematic trailer that is for a lack of a better word quirky.
The new teaser trailer doesn’t show off any gameplay, any details regarding the game or even a hint about it’s release date. But it’s a humorous little video that will get you pumped up and excited for the upcoming game.
The first Destiny game received much criticism for it’s overly serious tone and lack of humor, as well as a very complex, and rather confusing story. The new games trailer seems to show that Bungie has listened to it’s fans and is addressing these problems by embracing the sci-fi wackiness.
The trailer features Cayde-6 nursing a drink at a bar while recounting tales of adventure and action to the audience. The camera then pans out, showing the ruins of the Lost City (an iconic Destiny location) where Cayde-6 is battling, as he runs back to join the fight.
We also have good news for PS4 owners: A PlayStation channel version of the video confirmed that Destiny 2 will feature PS4 exclusive content that will be locked and available only to PS4 players atleast until the fall of 2018. The previous Destiny also had PlayStation exclusive content. More details regarding the PlayStation-exclusive content will be unveiled later this summer.
As for other details, we won’t have to wait too long to find out because Bungie is set to launch a worldwide release trailer on March 30th, 2017 at 1pm Eastern Standard Time.
Destiny 2 will is scheduled for release in fall of 2017 on the PS4 and Xbox. Rumors suggest there will be a PC version as well, a first for the series. If confirmed, this will be great news that will delight PC players.
